“You’re not supporting Karen for mayor?!?!? Wow. That’s crazy!” Before I could make it in the door to the voter education event, a longtime sister-friend greeted me with those words of hello. Not a hug or a “thanks for coming.” My response? “I think it’s crazy to give away a billion dollars in raises to police, to appoint Jim McDonnell as chief, and to call it not-a-genocide in Palestine.”
